Really fun, lightweight and great for beginners. If you've got proper dj skills you won't even be thinking about this as you'll have already used higher end stuff, but for house parties and casual use this is fantastic. Paired with an iPad it's really responsive, you can even learn to do a bit of scratching and the beatmatching and effects you get with the app (see below) are fun too. It's not without it's drawbacks, though: - no audio outputs on the unit, it comes from your iPad/iPhone/computer headphone socket. A splitter cable is included so you can use separate headphones for cueing, but this means 2x mono outputs which is not ideal, and the sound through the headphones doesn't seem loud enough. no power cables, it gets its juice from whatever it's plugged into. If this is your iPad, you can't charge it while it's in use because it connects via the 30-pin/lightening socket.
So make sure it's charged for as long as you need it. speaking of connections, this WON'T WORK with an IPAD AIR without buying a separate £25 30pin to lightening connector. to use this with an iPhone or iPad, you'll need to buy separate apps for each (Djay 2 - about £2 for iPhone, £5 for iPad - worth it) You can also use this with a Mac or PC and software for these is included (via download links), though I've not tried yet. Apparently you can also use this to control Traktor software.
